These solar water heater kits are closed loop systems with a heat exchanger suitable for most areas of the country. Please call if you want an open loop system and freezing is not a problem. |
Pool Heating

SolarRoofs has Specialized glazed 10, 20
and 40 square foot pool heating collector available with an all copper
absorber for customers who want to heat pools in colder conditions. It
is called the Skyline® 40-06.
Standard Color is Musket Brown (CO101), with a Free option of Dove (Medium) Gray (C109) (Other color options are available at an extra cost)

Each 40-06, 40 square foot collector can deliver up to 46,000 Btu's per day. The
average percentage of collector area to pool surface area coverage is
generally 50 - 80% as recommended by the manufacturer. A south facing
50% coverage will generally give one to three additional months of pool
usage at each end of the season. Some customers have requested pool
systems with as little as 25% coverage with good results for their
needs. |

Skyline 10-01 Collector (20" X 6') |

| Skyline collectors have a high performance, all copper, Thermafin™ absorber with the revolutionary Crystal Clear coating. Crystal Clear is environmentally benign and boasts an emissivity of approximately 0.10 and absorptivity of approximately 0.95. Ultra light Solar Grade Polycarbonate Structural Sheet is used for the collector glazing because it is virtually unbreakable, energy efficient and guaranteed weather-resistant. The glazing comes with a 10 year non-prorated warranty, is serviceable for over 20 years and is easy and low cost to replace. With one easy, low cost glazing replacement, Skyline® collectors are serviceable for 40 years or more. |
The Skyline 20-01 is 12 feet long by 20 inches wide by 3" thick and weighs 38 pounds. The feed and return are at one end. They have a 2" space between them and up to 4, 10-01 collectors can be stacked one above the other or up to 8 in a stacked, side by side configuration. 20-01 collectors have custom options feed through and turnaround collectors extending up to 60' with one feed and return. These collectors are ideal for commercial applications. |
Each Skyline 20-01 solar collector produces thermal energy roughly equal to the energy of a 1 kW Photovoltaic (PV) system. Solar water heating is the perfect complement to a Photovoltaic system because it can increase the energy output for a fraction of the cost of the same power output from a PV system. |
